Hello friends and family,
Isn't God great? I am so excited for what he is doing here and how He continues to move in and around us. I have a couple of stories to share. Thank you so much for your support and prayers. You are just as much a part of what God is doing here as I am. YOU ARE VERY IMPORTANT!
French Class is usually pretty fun, however, this week has been a bit of a struggle. I am meeting a few people while I am here. I have connected with a Moroccan girl. She is very nice and talkative. She was telling me about an upcoming eye exam so I told her I would pray to my God, (not Mohammed) to be with her. She did not object! I also took a membership class for church this week that was all in French, so it was very good practice!
Following God is always an adventure. I just never know what will come my way next. I have told you before about my "atheist" friend. I get so excited as I watch God begin to work in her life. I have told her several times that I was praying for her when she was struggling with various issues of life. Well, the other day she told me that she had told her dog to thank God because each time they went for a walk, on a rainy day, the rained stopped. She is talking about thanking God more and more. It is an amazing thing to behold. I am honored to be able to be a small part of that.
Great things are happening at the church. There is so much to do. The congregation is growing but there is so much teaching to be done. People here have to be taught what 'community' means and what 'family' means. This area is very self centered as is much of the world these days when Satan is included. But we are praying and teaching, and God keeps bringing them in. Pray for the church, the pastor and also for his family. Satan is hard at work But GOD IS BIGGER and we are trusting Him to lead us through.
Having the dogs is such a blessing to me. It is amazing how many people I talk to because they are curious about the dogs. They are amazed because my dogs obey so well. I keep them on leashes. They are very respectful of other dogs and people as they walk by. The other day I met a lady from West Indies. She is involved in a homosexual relationship. However, she is seeking me out so I am praying for an opening to share about Jesus. Will you join me in that prayer? And I have also recently gotten acquainted with a lady from North Africa. She has invited me to her home to visit. She lives near me so I am excited to see what God is going to do there.
Village of Hope is an orphanage in Morocco. I used to work there. Adam is there. He is 16 and I have known him since he was a baby. He is very interested in working with dogs. I was able to connect him with the dog training school "E-Training for Dogs" that I have worked with. The director was very happy to accept him into the group as she was in an orphanage as a child herself. Isn't it amazing how God puts the pieces together?!
I wish I could tell more stories but much of what I do cannot be put to paper due to confidentiality and for the safety of those involved. But I can tell you that God is at work and I am honored to be a part of what He is doing. So one more time, I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers and support. -- Joyce
